Mian Gul Sir Abdul Wadud was born in 1881 in Saidu Sharif to a Gujar tribe. He was the eldest son of Miangal Abdul Khaliq, and was the grandson of Aman-ul-Mulk's uncle, the chief of Chitral. He received a private education. When the tribes of Upper Swat elected Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah as their king in 1915, he opposed the election and was exiled to Dalbar from 1915-1916. DEATH
Jahanzeb passed away on September 14, 1987 in Saidu Sharif. His funeral was attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Khan Junejo and other senior officials. He was buried in his ancestral graveyard in Saidu Sharif.
After Pakistan's independence in August 1947, Swat became a fully independent princely state until November 3, when it recognized Pakistan as one of the independent princely states of Pakistan, and the Wali continued to rule.
